About Acupuncture & FAQ #01
Acupuncture is the ancient oriental art of inserting very fine needles on special points of the body along energy conveying meridian lines, similar to the nervous system in western terms. This energy is referred to as QI, and although invisible can be felt by both patient and practitioner, especially when an acupuncture point is stimulated.

What Conditions Can it Help?

What Benefits can be Expected?
You should feel a general relaxation following treatment plus a general sense of well-being and increased energy. As treatment progresses you should feel a relief from pain and in time ease of your presenting symptoms.

Does acupuncture hurt?
In theory no as the needles are very fine and inserted to only a shallow depth. However some points of the body, where energy may be blocked can create a strong sensation, not necessary a pain when the needle momentarily engages and releases the blockage.

Is it alright to eat prior to treatment?
Yes this is fine and in fact its good to ensure that you are not feeling hungry or dehydrated.

You have got rid of my sciatica but why do my knees hurt again? They have not hurt since I had sciatica!
This is an example of something that can happen during treatment when old symptoms return for a while prior recovery. It is known as 'The Law of Cure'.
